Holoportation and future technologies are somewhat of a confounding myth of gadgetry if you’re not plugged into ‘The Matrix’ of the modern world. Holoportation is confusing to start with, but when explained in full, ones’ ability to teleport themselves digitally anywhere in the world doesn’t seem so far fetched. You see this technology is so forward thinking – it’s going to be a game changer… maybe not tomorrow, but in very near future for sure.

Cameras, lenses, computers and a lot of people power have all combined to make this technology a reality and I’m thankful they have. It’s technology breakthroughs like this that will see the imaging industry change forever. I recently wrote an article about Artificial Technology and how that might change the imaging industry, but combine those thoughts with Holoportation and today’s world will seem ‘so 90’s’.

“Holoportation is a new type of 3D capture technology that allows high-quality 3D models of people to be reconstructed, compressed and transmitted anywhere in the world in real time”. – MS Hololens

Just picture a bank, server complex or a building that requires a high sense of security, wouldn’t it be interesting to set up this technology as surveillance? Triangulating cameras all recording together to capture the crime in real time, only to have it played back in miniature form on the investigating officers desk? Or how about beaming a Holoportation game replay into the clouds at the next half time Superbowl – ‘stadium sky screen’ could that be possible? Or what about even using Holoportation in the office environment to beam across all your subsidiaries across the world at one time – you really could clone yourself and become way more proactive in this space – Gary Vaynerchuk I’m looking at you.

The list of possibilities are endless and I’m very excited (and I’m sure you are) to see the future changing. I can think of so many uses for this technology, so if you’re interested in connecting with me connect hit me up on Linkedin or drop a comment below as I would love to hear your thoughts on Holoportation and the future of imaging.
