This shoot was actually a little while ago now but I just haven’t had the time to post it – until now that is. This was a fun little shoot with Brittany Shemmeld from Scene Model Management and Georgia Renee Taun, we did a couple of things on the day but these B&W shots in this cute little outfit were by far my favourites!
The lighting setup here is one of the simplest you can get – a very very basic rembrandt style light coming in from camera left, classic and recycled but still extremely effective. One thing to note though – I haven’t got my softbox pointing directly at the model, instead it’s pointing in between the camera and the model (demonstrated in the diagram), which feathers the light and creates a much nicer fall off and a slightly softer light. Next time you get a chance to play around in a studio I’d recommend experimenting with this technique, you might be pleasantly surprised.
