Galapagos Tortoise are the largest living subspecies of tortoise. The average estimated lifespan of a galapagos tortoise is around 150 years old. Charles Darwin visited the Galapagos Islands and collected a tortoise which was then transported to england, and then to Australia zoo where it died at an estimated age of 176years. An adult tortoise can weight up to 250kg and requires 5 strong fit people to lift one.
