As the Senior Editor of Travel Longer, a fairly new digital magazine that focuses on extended travel & photography, I get to interview some pretty cool people. A little while back, I had the distinct pleasure of interviewing not only a great photographer, but a great human being.
Ken Kaminesky is first and foremost an extremely talented photographer. A fashion and commercial photographer for many years, he landed the cover of National Geographic just 18 months after ‘getting into’ travel photography.
Ken’s photography has since led him to start a very popular travel blog, as well running photography workshops in some very remote and stunning locations around the world.
I had the privilege of talking to Ken at length about his love of travel, the enjoyment of finding that next ‘great location’ and some of the amazing charity work in Jordan.
Being the most easy-going of people to talk with and given our dual love of travel and photography — our little interview turned into quite the chat!
After some serious editing, we are still left with quite an in-depth look at Ken’s past travel experiences, current projects and some amazing future plans. Plus we touch on some cool photography toys and Ken talks briefly about Image Rights, and why everyone needs to understand what it is.
So grab yourself a cup of coffee, sit back in your favorite chair and enjoy a chat with one of Travel Longer magazine’s ‘Featured Photographers’ Ken Kaminesky.
Ken Kaminesky is a commercial travel photographer and visual storyteller. His work has been featured in numerous commercial publications, including on the cover of National Geographic.
He communicates his passion for travel, and for the landscapes & people he meets along the way, through his popular blog, and through yearly workshops in places as far-flung as Jordan, Italy and Iceland. His favorite place in the world is always his next destination. He believes that everywhere has a story that will inspire people, and he’d love to capture it in an image.
It’s our hope to continually share our imaging knowledge and experience for free. To support us in this effort please consider making your next purchase through our partner Amazon. The price will stay the same for you, but a small commission is attributed back to all of the contributors at F Stop Lounge.
Thanks in advance for showing your support and we wish you all the best in your photographic journey.
