15 Well Composed Macro Photos of Insects

Insects, bugs and creepy crawlies offer the macro photographer an infinite amount of color, texture, and physical construction to explore. Macro and close-up photography can be challenging tasks even under the best of circumstances. Taking photos of such small and intricate subjects requires a lot of patience and attention to detail.

Macro photography offers a new perspective on the insect world, where you can witness details that can’t usually be seen be the naked eye, and make even the most “other worldly” of insects seem a little cute, despite their reputation as pests .

Here are 15 well composed insect photos from some of the talented photographers at 500px.

About The Author

I live on the mid-north coast of New South Wales with my wife Carly and two adorable kids Liliana and Lucas. I spend most of my time pursuing a 'full-time hobby' in digital photography. Photography has become a tool that helps me see the world from a different perspective. It's given me the opportunity to push personal limits, and to test personal boundaries. It's opened me to a wealth of experiences that I never could have envisaged.
